Police Commissioner John Rizzo yesterday stated that Jo Said’s allegations and accusations of corrupt practice against Rural Affairs and Environment Minister George Pullicino were not credible.
The minister had requested the commissioner to investigate claims made by Mr Said in an article was published in It-Torca on 24 February. The article carried parts of a transcript where Mr Said had accused Mr Pullicino of corrupt practice.
Mr Pullicino had also filed a libel suit against Mr Said and the editor of It-Torca. He was informed yesterday by the police commissioner that Mr Said was questioned by the Economic Crimes Unit about what was said in the article and it was revealed that these allegations were unfounded and not credible.
