An outstanding performance of Rossini’s Cenerentola raised the curtains on the 2008 edition of the BOV Opera Festival.
The audience that packed the theatre followed the production entrusted to the Teatro Borgatti from Cento in Italy. Artistic direction was in the able hands of Giovanni Dispenza and musical direction was superbly handled by Mro Michael Laus, who directed The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.
The production of Cenerentola is seeing a number of seasoned performers from Teatro Borgatti making up the line-up for the cast. The title role is being performed by Giuliana Castellani as Angelina known as Cenerentola, Gianluca Breda as Don Magnifico and Alejandro Escobar as Don Ramiro. Dandini is performed by Davide Rocca.
The second performance will take place at the Teatru Manoel today.
