The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce will be organising two courses – one on Stone Sculpture and one on Clay Sculpture.

The Stone Sculpture course will be run by the well-known sculpture Charles Bonnici. The course has two levels, beginners and Intermediate. The students will be introduced to the tools required, and the practice of the ins and outs of sculpture techniques. They plan to produce a detailed work from rough stone, for which they will use drawing and full size patterns, and will be constantly advised and monitored.

The clay sculpture course will cover the following projects and is for beginners: pinch-pots, coil jars, slab work, relief with clay, drawing on clay, modelling a human bust, modelling a human figure, abstract sculpture in clay, making a relief mould with clay and plaster.

The cost of each course is e20.96 and will run over ten sessions of two hours each.
