Island Hotels Group announces the appointment of Tonio Aquilina, Food & Beverage Manager for the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa.

Tonio Aquilina successfully graduated in Hotel and Catering management at the Institute of Tourism Studies. To gain experience, Tonio then moved to York in England where he was exposed to general hotel manager duties. On his return to Malta he joined the Dolmen Hotel and worked his way up to Food and Beverage Manager and subsequently Business Development Manager. During this period he also spent a year as Junior Food and Beverage Manager at the Bellevue Palace Hotel, a leading hotel of the world in Berne Switzerland.

Following this Tonio joined Mgarr Hotel, gaining experience in the 5 star market, a post he occupied for 3 years in the capacity of Operations Manager. Once Mgarr Hotel closed its doors, Tonio moved to Grand Hotel Mercure San Antonio as an Operations Manager.

Tonio is very excited about his new position within Island Hotels Group and with his qualities and extensive experience in the sector is expected to add immediate added value to the food and beverage brigade at the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa.
