Catholic Church Marks Death of Jesus Christ

The Catholic Church yesterday marked the Death of Jesus Christ with a liturgical celebration that was followed by solemn Good Friday processions in various towns and villages in Malta and Gozo.

Good Friday Processions were held in Cospicua, Luqa, Mosta, Naxxar, Paola – Christ the King, Qormi – St George, Rabat – St Francis, Senglea, Valletta, Vittoriosa – St Lawrence, Zebbug and Zejtun in Malta; and, in Nadur, Victoria – St George, Xaghra and Zebbug in Gozo.

The Church will be celebrating the Resurrection of Our Lord this evening with Masses that will be held in all parish churches.

Tomorrow, in the early morning, there will be processions with the Risen Christ in Cospicua, Gharghur, Gzira, Mosta, Naxxar, Paola – Christ the King, Qormi – St George, Qormi – St Sebastian, Rabat – St Paul, Senglea, Valletta – Jesuits’ Church, Vittoriosa – St Lawrence, Zebbug, Zejtun in Malta; and in Kercem, Nadur, Qala, Victoria – Cathedral Church, Victoria – St George, Xaghra and Zebbug in Gozo.
