With flight BA2871 departing at 5.25am from Malta International Airport, British Airways launched its mainline operation between Malta and London Gatwick on Tuesday.

British Airways now operates a daily service, offering a two-cabin service, Club Europe (business class) and Euro Traveller (economy). Complimentary food and drinks are served on board and our High Life Shop! offers a wide range of exclusive products ranging from perfumes and cosmetics to useful travel gadgets.

The flight departs Malta every day at 5.25am and arrives at London Gatwick at 7.30am. From London Gatwick the return flight departs at 9.55pm and lands in Malta at 2.10am. This schedule allows for a full day of work or leisure in London and the possibility to transfer onto British Airways intercontinental flights, departing from London Gatwick and London Heathrow, to a number of destinations in the world; no less than 150 destinations in 74 countries.

Fares to London start from e90 (one way, all inclusive). Bookings can be made online on ba.com or through a travel agent.

“It is our great pleasure to announce the launch of our new mainline route which connects Malta to London Gatwick. We are certain that the services that we offer both on the ground and in the air will accommodate the needs of our customers travelling for both leisure and business,” said James Stagno Navarra, British Airways Sales manager for Malta.

“BA is committed to supporting the growth of tourism in the region and we are thrilled to offer this service to our Maltese

customers.”
