The Malta Council for Culture and the Arts wishes to inform all those interested that the Valentino Bucchi Prize Foundation will be holding the 31st edition of this prestigious international music competition.

Competitions will be held in Rome for players of violin, viola, double bass, violincello, quartet and strings and in the field of composition.

The competitions for violin and viola will be held between 15 and 29 November and are open for musicians of violin and violas, born after 31 December 1974, from any country of origin.

The competitions for Double Bass and Violincello will be held between 17 and 29 November, while the competition for String Quartets will be held from 19 to 29 November.

The Compositions competition is divided into six categories. Categories A,B and C are reserved for composers born after 31 December 1967; Category D (juniors) is open for those who were born after 31 December 1981 while categories E and F are open to everyone without any age limit. Here any candidate can participate in one or more categories.
