The Malta Institute of Financial Services and the Malta Financial Services Authority are organising a seminar “Current and Prospective Directors of Investment Companies”.
David Williams of Haven Risk Management, UK will conduct this training seminar over two mornings. Mr Williams has over 10 years experience providing regulatory support and training to financial services companies.
The seminar will focus on the principles of corporate governance and key areas: money laundering, risk affecting hedge funds, data protection, MiFID, and monitoring risk in asset management companies. Both sessions will include case studies and a group assessment.
This training event is beneficial for anyone intending to act as a director and/or board secretary of an investment services licensed company, together with lawyers, accountants, former senior officials within the financial services sector and recent graduates in a financial services discipline.
The seminar is being held from 8:30am to 1pm on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 April, at the Carlson Suite, Radisson SAS, St Julian’s. Participation fee is €120 (Lm51.52). Certificates of attendance will be issued to participants who attend both sessions.
IFS members registered for the CPD programme can claim learning (Category 5) for attending this seminar. Likewise, members of the Malta Institute of Accountants who attend will be accredited with seven hours structured CPE, which qualifies for the attainment of the Professional Competencies: Other relevant legislation / Investment Business.
