This month will see the last episodes from the popular tv drama Santa Monika. The series, which premiered three years ago, was spread over 68 episodes with the last episode airing on Net TV on 23 June. However it will not be a curtain call for the cast and crew of the series. The popular characters will be back with a new story in January when Santa Monika returns with a cinema feature film.

The story is scripted by Frederick Zammit, who has also scripted all 68 television episodes, and will see the return of some of the most popular characters in the series such as Joanne (Simone Zammit), Rachel (Marvic Cordina), Jessie (Vivienne Caruana), Sandra (Marica Mizzi), Miss Catherine (Vanessa Cassar), Anna (Doris Bonello), Doris (Louise Cassar), Vicky (Greta Falzon Aloiso) and George (Ray Attard). And joining the cast will be Mark Mifsud from Gizelle, as a new prison warden whose secret may cost the correctional facility its credibility. Sandra Davis, last seen on TVM’s It-Tmien Nota is also on board as a new inmate whose identity is a secret. What is her secret and what will happen once she is recognised by one of the inmates.

Santa Monika – The Movie, will be directed by Fabian Mizzi and produced by Image 2000 Ltd.
