Malta Independent Friday, 11 July 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Budvar Beer, the Czech premium lager produced by Czech company Budejovicky Budvar will be the official beer at the forthcoming ZOO Goes Holidays production due to be staged today, tomorrow and Sunday at the Greek open air theatre in Ta’ Qali.

A sponsorship agreement was reached this week between master group, importers and distributors of Budvar and the Zoo team composed of Daniel, Sander, Claire and Owen.

“Budvar has been on the local market for this past year and we have experienced a steady and successful increase in sales for this brand,” said Claudio Camilleri, Head Sales and Marketing at master group. “We wanted to celebrate this success by associating the brand with a successful summer production and we felt that ZOO’s forthcoming production is the perfect opportunity for what we had in mind.”

This is not the first time that master group is collaborating closely with the ZOO team.

Last year, master group was one of the major sponsors throughout ZOO’s production calendar with Budvar as well as its Camilleri Wines brand. In fact, thanks to this collaboration, both Budvar and Camilleri Wines enjoyed a successful exposure amongst the 30,000 people who attended ZOO’s performances.

“This was a staggering accomplishment both for the ZOO team and for Camilleri Wines and we now look forward to repeating this success for Budvar beer, a premium lager brand that has picked up an encouraging interest from a fast growing consumer base who appreciate the genuine and prestigious roots of this brand,” added Claudio.

Budvar is brewed by Budejovicky Budvar brewery, one of the most successful Czech export food and beverage producing companies with 25 per cent of all beer exports from the Czech Republic originating from the prestigious brewery.

Budvar is considered to be among the best premium lagers in the world with exports into more than 50 countries across all continents. Some of its largest markets are in Germany, Great Britain, Slovak Republic, Austria, Italy, Russia, France, Spain, Hungary and Poland.

Tickets for Zoo Goes Holidays are being sold at e11.50 each and may be booked via ticket hotline 7979-0200.

Further information about the production may be obtained via ZOO’s official website www.zoo.com.mt
