Following the success of the first night of BOV Streets Alive, Valletta is set to once again experience an aura of merriment full of fun and entertainment this evening with the second BOV Streets Alive 2008 programme.
Catering outlets will once again be serving al fresco in the various streets and squares of the central part of the capital. Entering Valletta, one will be able to enjoy a display of classic motor bikes in Freedom Square. Close by in St John’s Square crowds will be entertained by an ongoing session of Milonga tango dance from 8.30pm onwards. A children’s corner is being created in Republic street with the participation of stilt walkers and fun animators.
A sculpture garden by Sue and David Mifsud inside the Auberge D’italie will be complimented by a host of artists from the Society of Manufactures and Arts in Merchant Street. Live entertainment will be provided by the Ghaxaq Folk and Pop Ensemble. St Catherine’s Church will also host an exhibition which deals with the Valletta restoration projects conducted by the Valletta Rehabilitation Project.
The Malta Dance Sport Association will be holding a Ballroom Dancing session at the Casino Maltese from 7pm until 9 pm. Admission will be free of charge.
The highlight of the evening will be a programme of Neapolitan songs and extracts from operettas by Vox Lyrica made up of George Saliba, tenor, and sopranos Marita Bezzina and Rosabelle Pavia. This programme will start at 20.00 hours in Great Siege Square.

The BOV Streets Alive series of entertainment programmes will come to a close on Friday 8 August. This initiative to entice Maltese and tourists alike to enjoy their summer nights in Valletta is being organised by Valletta Alive Foundation in collaboration with Bank of Valletta, the Ministry for Tourism and Culture, the Malta Tourism Authority and Allied Newspapers are also supporting this initiative.
