The Westin Dragonara Resort will be organising a fund raising BBQ on 28 August at the Westin Reef Club. This BBQ will be sold at e18 and all proceeds will be donated to UNICEF. All Starwood properties around the world participate in a check out for children programme and this programme recently celebrated a significant milestone when it surpassed the $17 million mark in guest donations since it was launched in 1995. The $17 million raised by Starwood guests and associates have enabled UNICEF to immunise over one million children against childhood diseases.

During the last 12 months Starwood and UNICEF have been working together to renew and refresh the partnership to ensure that Check Out for Children continues to be exciting and meaningful to Starwood’s guests and associates. While in the past, all funds raised by Check Out for Children were used for one purpose – immunisation – from now on, each Starwood brand will support a different and distinct aspect of UNICEF’s life-saving work around the globe. These programmes have been carefully chosen to mirror and promote the core values of Starwood’s brands. Westin Hotels will be supporting UNICEF’s Water and Sanitation projects through “Water for Life”.
