The Malta Qualification Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) is now part of the Malta Qualifications Council (MQC), and has recently moved to the Council’s premises in St Lucia.
Established as the official national body to deal with the recognition and comparability of both academic and vocational qualifications, MQRIC co-ordinates the different agencies and authorities which are entitled to evaluate and award credentials and licenses.
MQRIC was set up in 2002 and was established to satisfy the requirements established in Act XVIII of 2002 of the Reciprocal Recognition of Qualifications, as well as the convention on the recognition of qualifications related to Higher Education in Europe. The Malta Qualifications Council oversees the development of the National Qualifications Framework in the context of lifelong learning and works in partnership with learners, employers and training and education providers to achieve and maintain excellence as a contribution towards the national effort for competitiveness.
Individuals who would like to evaluate their qualifications, can go to MQC’s offices situated at 16/18, Tower Promenade, St Lucia. MQC’s offices are situated on the main road of St Lucia, just before the Parish Church. Individuals need to present their original certificates and fill in an application form. Staff will make copies of the certificate/s presented, check the original/s and hand back an application receipt. The evaluation of their qualification will be sent by post. MQC staff can also email application forms to be filled in.
MQRIC also provides help to students who are interested in, or are currently reading for, a course at a foreign university.

Current office hours till the end of September are from 8am-1.30pm. As from 1 October individuals may call at any time between 8am-5pm.
