GO has just teamed up with Happy Paws and will be supporting its sterling work toward the care of stray animals from a brand new clinic in Marsa. The clinic will be geared with high tech telecom services – fixed telephony, broadband internet, mobile and digital TV powered by GO – Malta’s leading quad-play telecom provider.
Joining forces with GO has put the Happy Paws team in a superb position to speed up its operations by leaps and bounds and further enhance the significant role it plays locally caring for stray animals and rousing public awareness to the suffering of hungry, suffering and homeless animals. The clinic will soon enjoy the highest quality fixed telephony and mobile services, high speed internet and digital TV.
Happy Paws is a non-profit organisation and all members of its dynamic team are volunteers who are committed to easing the suffering of homeless and abandoned animals – particularly dogs and cats. The charity’s main focus has always been to provide strays with a wide range of medical services including neuturing. Happy Paws is undeniably a success story and depends on the sheer energy of its volunteers and their funding life-saving initiatives for stray animals. Since its inception some three years ago, the popular animal charity has cut down hugely on the number of stray animals in Malta.
“GO is indeed pleased to be associated with the Happy Paws clinic project and have the chance to be actively involved in a notable project managed by a leading animal charity,” said Maria Jourdan, GO’s manager responsible for sponsorships and Corporate Social Responsibility during an on-site visit to the site for the new clinic in Marsa.
“We sincerely hope that the work at the clinic – to be carried out by veterinary surgeons, nurses, receptionists, telephone operators, cleaners and others – all working on a voluntary basis – will set the ball rolling and encourage more locals particularly young people to step forward and volunteer to give a helping hand in caring for abandoned and homeless animals. This is part of GO’s Corporate Social Responsibility,” she went on.
During the visit, well-known TV personality, Moira Delia, herself an animal lover and a member of the Happy Paws team, thanked GO for its support and said she hoped that other companies would follow suit and sustain the Happy Paws team in their ongoing efforts targeted to effectively promote animal awareness, care and education in Malta.
