In its latest sustainability report, Melita Limited has highlighted continued progress across environmental, social and governance (ESG) priorities while reinforcing the company's commitment to responsible growth, digital innovation and positive community impact.

The report outlines how Melita continued to strengthen its sustainability strategy throughout the year, building on established commitments and maintaining high standards across its operations. It also reflects the company's focus on creating long term value through investments in digital infrastructure, environmental initiatives and support for communities across Malta and Gozo.

Among the report's key highlights, Melita advanced initiatives designed to reduce its environmental footprint. The company increased the proportion of electric vehicles within its fleet to 68% and continued investing in energy efficiency projects and renewable energy initiatives, including its solar farm project in Mqabba.

Melita continued to align its sustainability strategy with international standards and best practices, maintaining certifications including ISO 27001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, while continuing to support the Science Based Targets initiative as part of its environmental commitments.

The report also highlights growth in Melita's Internet of Things (IoT) operations, with the technology increasingly being used to support resource efficiency and smarter solutions across different sectors and industries.

Harald Roesch, CEO of Melita, said: "Sustainability is increasingly integrated into the way businesses operate and create value. At Melita, we believe technology and connectivity have an important role to play in supporting more sustainable ways of living and working. This report demonstrates our continued commitment to delivering reliable digital infrastructure while reducing our environmental impact and creating positive outcomes for our customers, communities and employees."

The company's social contribution also remained a key focus area. Through The Melita Foundation, €716,000 has been allocated across more than 124 projects supporting digital skills development, heritage preservation, creativity and environmental initiatives. The Foundation continued to support organisations and projects aimed at delivering meaningful social impact while contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable society.
