Fish In Malta for World Tourism Day

Malta Independent Friday, 19 September 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 18 years ago

Former Marillion front man Fish will once again be in Malta, to the joy of his numerous local fans. Fish has visited Malta’s shores a number of times, and this year his return is being organised to coincide with the events marking World Tourism Day on 27 September.

The Scottish rock artist has enjoyed an 18-year long productive solo career with his latest album, 13th Star, released only last year. His performance in Bugibba, as part of the World Tourism Day (WTD) commemorations is expected to feature various tracks from the new album as well as other classic cuts from his solo albums, and some Marillion classic favourites. This year’s theme for WTD is “Tourism responding to the challenge of climate change”, a topic that today is at the heart of most environmentally conscious individuals.

This concert is just one of a number of initiatives being taken by the Malta Tourism Authority to commemorate World Tourism Day.

The Authority together with various stakeholders is organising events and initiatives to raise environmental awareness, with the tourists as well as employees and the public.
