Middlesea Health Supports Malta Red Cross Society

Middlesea Insurance plc through an initiative of the Middlesea Health Division has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Malta Red Cross Society. The objective of this agreement is to provide areas of cooperation for the promotion of health and care to the Maltese public.

The main areas of cooperation are twofold. Primarily, the sponsorship Agreement provides for a financial donation which goes directly towards the maintenance of seven Malta Red Cross ambulances and ambulance medical equipment. Middlesea Health and the Malta Red Cross have also agreed to set in motion joint educational events to address important matters such as first aid at the place of work and general health related topics.

The sponsorship cheque was presented by Mr Mario C Grech Executive Chairman of Middlesea Insurance plc. The presentation took place in front of Middlesea House Floriana in the Presence of Dr Chris Said, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Public Dialogue. A number of Red Cross paramedics and Middlesea staff were present for the occasion. Mr Grech stressed on the importance of Middlesea Corporate Social Responsibilities towards a number of sectors such as the environment, local heritage and healthcare.

Professor Frederick Fenech received the sponsorship as President of the Malta Red Cross. He thanked Middlesea Insurance for the initiative and explained the role of the Society in Malta and Gozo and said that it is mostly run on a voluntary basis. Professor Fenech stressed that the Red Cross ambulance are equipped with the most modern technology and that the maintenance costs are high.
