Top local band Winter Moods were honoured with the Legends’ Award at the Malta Music Awards 2008 for their long-standing career which spans more than two decades. This is the first time that this award was presented to a local artist. The band also won the Best Band award, the fifth in their career.

In one of the most emotional moments of this year’s MMAs, a snap shot of Winter Moods’ career showing imagery and clips of young boys who now make up the “ordinary men” of the band detailed how the dreams that were born in a garage in Senglea have now come to fruition.

“Judging by the vociferous and overwhelmingly positive reaction from the audience present at the MMAs to the video showing highlights from Winter Moods’ career, as well as the loud cheers and applause at the announcement of them being given the Legends’ Award, it was obvious that Winter Moods thoroughly deserved this award. They enjoy the support of an enormous following of people who have been clearly touched by their various albums and songs over the years,” said Carlo Borg Bonaci, one of the organisers of the MMAs.
