‘Senglea Civitas Invicta: L-iskrizzjonijiet li jinsabu fit-tliet knejjes ta’ Senglea’ by Horatio Caesar Roger Vella. Published by PEG Ltd. 178p. Illus. ISBN: 978-99932-0-656-9

This book gathers all the inscriptions, mostly written in Latin, that are found in the three churches in Senglea: the Basilica, San Giljan and that of Porto Salvu. In the way in which these inscriptions are presented they give the history of Senglea from the Great Siege of 1565 to the year 2007, when the parish church celebrated 50 years from when it was re-consecrated after the devastation of the Second World War in 1942.

These inscriptions also give information regarding the Knights of St John, those Grand Masters who had connections with Senglea, popes and archbishops of Malta, parish priests and archpriests of Senglea and others including benefactors of this town. This is a book, which admires a great people who helped to write the history of Malta.
