Simon Schembri is considered by the media and press as a most enhanced guitarist enjoying profound musicmanship, coupled with excellent virtuosity and a generous deep versatility.
Simon Schembri commenced his guitar studies at the tender age of 6, under the dedicated guidance of Mro Carmelo Schembri, his grandfather. He then proceeded to the recital podium and started giving concerts when just 9 years of age. Success at such a young age took him to London and Paris, when at just 14 years, was awarded the “Premier Priz d’Imterpretation” from the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris.
Simon Schembri has been residing in France for the last 27 years. During this time, he was given over 600 concerts all over the world, though the most being in France, UK, Spain, Germany and Italy.
Simon Schembri is Professeur d’Enseignement Artistique Hors Classe in Paris,and also at the Ecole Supérieure de Musique Schola Cantorum Paris. He regularly gives Masterclasses in summer music academies : Académie internationale de musique de Lozère, and Académie internationale de musique des Pays de Loire.
Simon Schembri is known to be capable of establishing a direct contact with his audience. Through him, the audience is given the opportunity to experience the romantic expression only derived from the Guitar.
