Virtu Ferries have announced the appointment of Henri Saliba as managing director of the company with effect from 1 January.
Henri Saliba, who has been with the company since commencement of operations in June 1988, was appointed general manager in 1993 and became a member of the board of directors in 1999.
As managing director, Mr Saliba will also be responsible for the running of Virtu Ferries’ subsidiary companies Virtu Ferries Srl and Venezia Lines Ltd together with their respective offices in Malta, Pozzallo, Catania, Bari, Venice, Croatia and Albania.
It is without doubt that Henri Saliba will continue to further develop the company as a leading Maltese maritime transport company, supporting the core business of the group, the company said.
Mr Saliba is the son of Notary and Mrs Philip Saliba. He was educated at St Edward’s College and is married to Anne Marie née Monaco; they have a nine-year-old son Mark.
This appointment will enable Mr Saliba’s predecessor, Francis Portelli, to concentrate his efforts as managing director of the Virtu Group.
