A 41-year-old man was remanded in custody yesterday after being charged with snatching a bag from a 77-year-old woman from Msida.
Raymond Abela, from Birkirkara, pleaded not guilty before magistrate Anthony Vella to slightly injuring the woman, robbing her of cash, documents and a mobile phone worth less than e2,329.37 and dealing in the stolen goods.
He was also charged with committing a crime during the operative period of a conditional discharge and another suspended jail term as well as relapsing.
Police Inspector Raymond Cassar prosecuted while Dr Daniela Mangion and Dr Gabrielle Buttigieg appeared for the accused.
