I like to think I am a bit of a wine buff! But with thousands of different wines on the market, I’m finding it increasingly hard to choose and often end up disappointed – a delightful bottle label, is not always indicative of a good wine!

So I was very pleased, on my last visit to PAVI’s La Vigna Wine & Gourmet Cellar, when asking at the desk for assistance, to meet the Supervisor. He explained the PAVI passion for wines and gourmet food and was actively encouraging customers to discuss their requirements with trained staff members, to assist them to make selections suited to their taste and budget.

We chatted about what I was looking for – I had in mind something special for a quiet dinner a deux (avocado mousse, salmon and strawberries) but not breaking the piggy bank! We wandered the atmospheric La Vigna Cellar browsing the 1300 plus wines. Finally he suggested a wonderful Chablis and an alternative more modestly priced Petit Chablis. I can hardly wait for the weekend!
