The Banking on Women (BoW) committee of HSBC Malta has confirmed its presidency and members during the Annual General Meeting held at Hilton Malta.
“Self-development is at the core of the BoW mission providing assistance to women helping them advance in their career whilst encouraging a healthy work-life balance,” said Ms Pauline Azzopardi, who is the current president. “For this reason, our programme of events includes workshops and information sessions on a number of interesting topics ranging from Feng Shui to enhancing managerial skills, stress management. Furthermore BoW gives us a chance to network through a number of social events”
The present committee is composed of Alexandra Pace secretary; Jennifer Barberi membership secretary; Josette Abdilla-Cunningham public relations officer; Louise Dimech programme organiser; Rita Sammut-Buontempo treasurer; and members Sara Ali, Doriette Camilleri, Miriam Degabriele, Lorna Farrugia and Elizabeth Vella.
Banking on Women boasts some 137 members, from clerical to managerial staff at HSBC Bank Malta Plc. The group was set up seven years ago with the aim of supporting women to progress in their career within a context that safeguards their personal and family interests.
During the AGM, members assessed last year’s activities and approved proposals for this year’s calendar of events which cover a number of different subjects, from interior design, cookery courses and wine tasting, to work-related subjects of management skills public speaking and lateral thinking.
