Smart Supermarket will be using the internationally famous Green Dot symbol on its own branded food products such as confectionary and freshly baked products. This agreement was reached following a recent court action by Green Dot Malta Ltd against Smart Supermarket relating to the use of the mark “Green Dot”.

The two organisations also agreed to work together to ensure that the intellectual property rights relating to the Green Dot mark in Malta will be further protected from any unlawful use by third parties including suppliers of the various goods to the supermarket.

Taking advantage of the good repute of the Green Dot mark as a commitment of environmental compliance, Smart Supermarket has also joined up as a member of GreenPak.
