Malta Independent Saturday, 28 March 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 18 years ago

Editors of a number of prominent international yachting magazines are to visit Malta and attend the Superyacht Industry seminar at the invitation of the Malta Tourism Authority.

This was disclosed to representatives of the companies making up the sponsorship pool behind the forthcoming seminar at a meeting where details making up the organisation structure of the event were outlined.

The sponsors are the Malta Maritime Authority, Excelsior Grand Hotel, S&D Yachts Ltd, Medcomms Ltd, Melita Marine Group, Kirton and Co and Universal Imports and Export Ltd.

The seminar is being held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on Thursday, 30 April.

Three foreign expert speakers, nominated by the International Superyacht Society based in Florida USA and by VT Flagship operating from Portsmouth in the United Kingdom will address the seminar. The names of all speakers, including the local two, as well as the topics to be presented will be announced shortly. Since the announcement of the Seminar a few weeks ago a new structural change within the VT Group has brought about a change in name for Flagship Superyacht Academy, which is now called VT Flagship.

Under the theme The Superyacht Industry: A Challenge-An Opportunity, the seminar is being held under the patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport and the Yachting Services Trade Section (Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry)

The seminar is being organised by Wilfred Sultana and Associates publishers of Yachting in Malta, the directory to Malta’s yachting services and facilities.
