Bank of Valletta plc has published its 38th edition of the Bank of Valletta Review, featuring four informative papers.
The first paper, titled “Skilled Migration and Brain Drain”, is authored by Satish Chand. This paper discusses the issue whether emigration depletes the stock of skilled workers in the country from which workers emigrate.
The second paper titled “Measuring Market Efficiency: A Comparative Study”, was written by Ingrid Formosa. This paper presents a method for constructing a composite index of market efficiency with particular reference to the goods market, the labour market and the financial market.
Lisa Vella prepared the third paper titled “Part-time Employment and Social Legislation in Malta “. The aim of this paper is to identify the factors that give rise to part-time employment in Malta.
The fourth paper titled “Owner-Occupied Housing and its effect on the Measurement of Inflation for Malta” is sourced by Audrey Spiteri. This paper discusses the issue as to whether owner-occupied housing (OOH) should be taken into account when measuring inflation.
