Middlesea Valletta Life Assurance Co. Ltd has presented a donation to
The Young Women’s Christian Association (Malta). The funds will go towards the furnishing of their newly acquired premises in Msida.
YWCA Malta is an association of women from all walks of life, working to improve the lives of underprivileged women and girls, assisting them in regaining their self confidence.
A number of single mothers, homeless people, victims of domestic violence and families living in poverty benefit from the free and professional services offered by YWCA.
The donation was presented to Ms Doris Cusens by Mr David G. Curmi, chief executive officer of Middlesea Valletta Life Assurance Co. Ltd, at the Middle Sea House in Floriana.
Following the presentation David Curmi said that this donation is in line with Middlesea Group’s Corporate Responsibility commitment of providing financial support to philanthropic organisations.
Ms Doris Cusens, outgoing YWCA’s Public Relations Officer, expressed her gratitude for this donation.
Following the refurbishment of the new premises, YWCA will start a self-development programme.
This project aims to offer courses in basic skills such as grooming, cooking, curtain making, home management, reading and writing, basic English and Maltese and basic IT. These courses help women and girls to better manage their lives and make them more employable.
