Exhibition At Inquisitor’s Palace

Malta Independent Sunday, 26 April 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 17 years ago

Long-term resident in Malta, Chinese-American artist Jason Lu and filigree craftsman Kevin Attard are exhibiting their works in an exhibition entitled (AG)² at Heritage Malta.

Curated by Lisa Gwen Baldacchino, the exhibition also attempts to make a statement through display, flow and cohesion. It aims to prove that art can come in all shapes and forms, and that ultimately a timely tradition like filigree, often thought to belong to Malta’s cultural heritage, coupled with age-long Asian traditions, can and have been elevated to suit contemporary culture and fashion trends, and will perhaps also give way to new traditions.

The exhibition will be on view at the Inquisitor’s Palace in Birgu, which opened to the public yesterday for a two-week duration.

The exhibition has been supported by Heritage Malta, the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts and Marsovin.
