Malta Independent Thursday, 7 May 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Have you ever heard about Mowgli and her adventures in the jungle? Teatru Qroqq is bringing to life this fantastic story in the production Il-Grajja tal-Gungla adapted from the story The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. The play is directed by Marcelle Teuma, produced by Isabelle Gatt while Sigo is the voice coach. Trevor Zahra has worked on this delightful adaptation for the stage.

Mowgli is a young girl. She was abandoned in the jungle when she was a baby and was raised by wolves. But now Shere Khan, the tiger, is back in the jungle and wants to kill Mowgli. This is why Bagheera, the panther, wants to take Mowgli to the main village for her safety. It is not an easy trip. Mowgli finds it hard to leave the jungle where she has lots of animal friends. Along the way, Mowgli and Bagheera meet Baloo the lazy bear. They meet Kaa the serpent, Colonel Hathi and her dawn patrol, Queen Lulu’ and her servant monkeys and the sleepy vultures! You will see these animals talk and sing, laugh and dance. How will the story end? Who saves Mowgli from the dangerous traps found in the jungle?
