The Japanese range of delicacies, Osaka, is now in Malta in a variety of snacks including rice crackers. Brought to Malta by P. Cutajar & Co Ltd of Mriehel, Osaka is a low-fat range of snacks that come in trays, retail packets, and even jars.
Rice crackers were first introduced in Japan as early as the 9th century, when they were eaten often as a mid-day snack as well as during the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Japanese culture places great emphasis on complete harmony and perfection in daily living and mealtimes, a concept which is reflected in traditional Japanese cuisine. Food preparation is customarily carried out in a natural manner using the ingredients on hand, and this is no different for rice crackers.
