Further reinforcing its century-long love affair with the international film industry, Moët & Chandon the champagne of cinema, another quality brand by M Demajo Group, kicked off a dazzling programme of exclusive screenings, soirées and sponsorships at the 62nd annual Cannes Film Festival and at its “Moët Cannes 2009” private beach venue.
With prime positioning on the iconic Croisette, “Moët Cannes 2009” is an invitation-only prestige venue that hosted an array of parties, screenings and celebrations from 13-24 May. Moët invited A-list celebrities and filmmakers to autograph 15-litre Nebuchadnezzar bottles for charity, a now legendary cinema tradition that the House began decades ago at iconic film festivals and awards around the globe.
In an additional show of support for cinema and important causes, Moët & Chandon was once again served as the official champagne for the annual Cinema Against AIDS to benefit amfAR. This year’s event chairs included Sharon Stone, Harvey Weinstein with special guest speaker President Bill Clinton.
The world’s most loved champagne also sparkled backstage at the Canal + (French premium television channel) on-site studio and was served at exclusive VIP events and at iconic Cannes nightclubs such as Jimmy’s, and other celebrity hotspots.
“Generations of legendary actors, actresses, producers and directors have celebrated their achievements with Moët & Chandon and we are delighted to have supported this year’s cinema masterpieces in Cannes,” affirmed Frédéric Cumenal, President and CEO of Moët & Chandon. “Moët’s presence in Cannes is yet another example of the Maison’s historic link to cinema for nearly a century.”
Reflecting the excellence of the Maison, “Moët Cannes 2009” featured a fine sand beach, gourmet restaurant and an exclusive area for its A-list guests, as well as chic VIP areas, a high-tech journalist interview studio and luxury concierge services.
Moët & Chandon celebrated the magic of international cinema and has been the official champagne of the Golden Globes for almost two decades, is a longtime sponsor of the Deauville American Film Festival in France and the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain and was for the first time this year the exclusive champagne of the 2009 Oscars. In March 2009, Moët introduced Scarlett Johansson as the first Hollywood celebrity face of champagne, starring in a global advertising campaign and hosting A-list cinema-themed events around the world.
