Tal-Kaptan restaurant in Qawra has re-opened for business after a major refurbishment programme which has given the restaurant a new and modern look similar to its sister restaurant at the Valletta Waterfront. In keeping with the name, the restaurant bears a maritime theme with the open kitchen in the shape of a ship’s bow. The restaurant has a total seating capacity of over 400 of which 330 are situated on the terraces.

The restaurant is mainly a pizzeria offering a large variety of mouth-watering pizzas some of which are unique to this restaurant. The light and crunchy pizza dough which is extremely popular and synonymous with Tal-Kaptan has also been retained. Together with over eighteen pizza dishes the menu also includes a selection of platters a variety of pasta dishes, meat, salads, light snacks and a kids menu. For those with a sweet tooth Tal-Kaptan also offers a large selection of ice creams, cakes and sorbets on its menu.

The Tal-Kaptan restaurants in Qawra as well as the one at the Valletta Waterfront are managed by Kleaven Cassar, who is a chef and pizzaiolo by profession. Mr Cassar is ably assisted by Gerald Grech and two restaurant managers, who are responsible for the day to day running while Mr Cassar is responsible for business development and operations.

Speaking about the new restaurant Operations Manager, Kleaven Cassar said that “a lot of detail has gone into creating a distinct décor with a maritime theme. Although we have been open only for a few weeks we have had an excellent response from our customers both for the quality of the food and the service. Over the coming months we will be striving to ensure that these high standards are retained and even improved.” Tal-Kaptan restaurant in Qawra has re-opened for business after a major refurbishment programme which has given the restaurant a new and modern look similar to its sister restaurant at the Valletta Waterfront.
