Malta Independent Sunday, 31 May 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 18 years ago

Bank of Valletta participated in this year’s edition of the Tripoli International Fair, an event that has been increasing in popularity over the past years and which is now one of the major events in the Libyan calendar – with some 40 countries and 2,000 companies and organisations taking part.

The bank, together with other Maltese exhibitors, was in the Malta Pavilion, which was once again organised by Malta Enterprise. The Tripoli International Fair provided a unique opportunity for Maltese entrepreneurs to exhibit their products with other products from different countries.

It also served to establish new contacts with foreign companies, not only with those already operating in Libya, but also with others seeking to establish new business both in and outside Libya.

Charles Saliba, BOV’s Libya representative office manager attended the evening openings where he had the opportunity to hold one-on-one meetings with many foreign companies and individuals who showed great interest in the bank’s products.

Commenting on BOV’s participation, Mr Saliba said, “The Tripoli International Fair is a valuable opportunity for all those who wish to enhance their network and establish new contacts, which may result in new business for both Malta and Libya. BOV’s representative office in Libya provides assistance to our customers and assists them to identify new business opportunities available in the Jamahiriya, improving the relationship between the Maltese and Libyan banking sectors as well as fostering inward trade and investment to Malta.”

Bank of Valletta’s Libya Representative Office is located on the ground floor of Office No. 49, Al Fatah Towers, Tripoli, Libya and can be contacted by telephone on 00218 21 335 1661/2/3, by fax on 00218 21 335 1665 or by e-mail on [email protected].
