A media group from United Arab Emirates is promoting Malta's trade and investment in Dubai following a recent visit.
Malta's Consul General in Dubai, Anthony P. Tabone, led the journalists, whose visit was supported by Emirates Airline, the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Malta Tourism Authority and InterContinental Malta.
They had talks with Emirates Airline, Malta Enterprise, SmartCity Malta, and the Tourism and Foreign Ministries among others.
Paul Fleri Soler, Emirates' Manager for Malta and Cyprus, spoke about Emirates and how the airline has helped to grow and strengthen businesses between Malta and Dubai, commenting, “Since Emirates Airline started operating to Malta in 1998, we have actively worked to promote Malta in the Gulf region, in particular Dubai.
“Our carrier provides the business community with a daily flight to Dubai and onward destinations. Thus, we have significantly improved connections for travellers, the trade and cargo customers to Emirates ever-growing network of destinations across six continents.”
Mr Tabone, meanwhile, remarked, “This familiarisation visit has been very beneficial for Malta to boost the commercial ties between the two countries. The media coverage published in Dubai aims to generate interest in tourism and investment in Malta.”
The press delegation represented Gulf Business, Travel and Tourism news, Khaleej Times, Emirates Business 24x7 and the Dubai Eye radio station.
