Ronald McDonald Football skills test

On Saturday 16 May the Infetti football ground in Birkirkara was filled with over 150 football fanatic boys and girls, all taking part and competing in the third annual Ronald McDonald Football Skills Tests. Participants came from all over the island to compete in a range of different skills including penalty shootouts, long pass tests and passing practices. The youngsters were awarded points for each skill and the children with the most points at the end from each age group were crowned the winners. This year’s winners all taking home prestigious trophies were:

The event was coordinated in collaboration with Carmel Busuttil, other ex international players and qualified Maltese coaches. When asked about the event Carmel Busutill said: “It was a great event, and it was fantastic to have such a good turn out. All the children had a great time, and it is so positive to see them getting so much fun out of sport. Seeing all the children smiling and enjoying themselves makes coordinating such an event so rewarding.”

This annual event is part of McDonald’s commitment to educating youngsters of the importance of physical activity while pro-actively encouraging school aged children to take part in sports and healthy life styles.
