Marnisi Estate Opens its gates to the public

Malta Independent Monday, 15 June 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

With the Summer season round the corner and the sun-kissed vines showing healthy signs of budding, Marsovin is offering a unique opportunity to the local public and tourists to visit the Marnisi Estate in Marsaxlokk, home of three Marsovin Premium Estate Wines.

Marsovin’s philosophy of producing a selection of single vineyard wines is unique in Malta. This philosophy has offered an essential contribution to the assertion in Malta of the ‘Cru’; a vineyard dedicated to the production of grapes for a particular wine, because of its importance and peculiar characteristics.

Planted in 1994 in Marsaxlokk, the Marnisi Estate was the first in the series of Marsovin-owned Estates specifically intended for the production of premium quality wines. The Estate is spread across 73.2 tumoli of land and is planted with over 50,000 vines, consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The yields from this Estate are low thus guaranteeing the highest quality and depth of character.

Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk through some of the vines and afterwards savour a glass of one of the Marnisi Estate’s own premium wine. Guided tours by our Viticulturist and our Wine Specialist can be pre-booked.

The Estate is open to the public on Monday and Wednesday. For further information please contact us on 2366-2260 or 7923-1919.
