Melita reminds all subscribers to never reveal any information related to the security of their internet or email accounts. A number of fraudulent emails were recently sent to Melita subscribers asking subscribers to provide mail details and passwords. These emails did not originate from Melita.
To safeguard security, Melita urges subscribers to change the mail password by clicking on the ‘change password’ button in the My Melita portal.
All subscribers are encouraged to change their password with immediate effect
Melita advises subscribers to choose strong passwords of not less than 6 letters with numbers, letters and alphanumeric symbols included. References to personal names, mailbox usernames or other personal identification attributes should be avoided.
“Security is a very important consideration for Melita. This measure is being taken to provide subscribers with the safest email environment possible and to ensure that illegitimate users cannot access third party mailboxes. We remind all our subscribers to never divulge passwords to anyone else, not even to Melita personnel,” said Jonathan Dalli, Melita’s product manager for internet and telephony.
