After the success obtained in the Malta International Hit Song Festival by several Maltese singers, these are now also participating in several festivals held abroad.

Miriam Christine, the winner of last year’s edition of the local TV festival, together with Romina Mamo, who was classified second in this year’s edition recently returned to Malta from Kemer Antalya in Turkey, where they took part in the sixth edition of the Golden Pomegranate.

Both Miriam as well as Romina were very well received by the Turkish audience and were highly acclaimed when each of them sung a Maltese song and another song in the Turkish language.

The two Maltese singers were accompanied in Turkey by Robert Cefai who also formed part of the international jury.

Neville Refalo who classified first in this year’s edition of the Malta International Hit Song Festival took part in the Universong Festival which was held in Canary Islands on 2, 3 and 4 July.

Ignatius Farrugia accompanied Neville and also formed part of the international jury.

Marilena Gauci together with Anna Bonett, the latter being an active member of the organising committee, travelled to Egypt recently where she took part in the Seventh Alexandria International Music and Song Festival.

The participation of all singers in these foreign festivals has been made possible thanks to Norman Hamilton and Robert Cefai and all are sponsored by Hamilton Travel of Floriana.
