The UHM has instructed immigration officers at Malta International Airport to go out and wash their hands every 10 minutes, as a precaution against the swine flu. It said it has been asking for protection for the officers against the flu, but after weeks of inaction no protection has been given, though other employees at the airport have been supplied with protective material.
The union said the directive would remain in effect until the airport management provides some type of handwash in the arrivals and departures lounges.
