Passion Tru Time is an exhibition of acrylic works on canvas and on wood plus three sculptures of dried clay. It is being set up at the Heritage, Old University Buildings, Merchants Street, Valletta.
The Official Opening by the minister for Education and Culture Ms Dolores Cristina will be on Friday 7 August.
The story of mankind and his legendary events will be the subject of the exhibition. That is why this exhibition is called a Passion Tru Time. Anthony Lucian Cauchi is passionately in love with history and art. He wants to express his notion and interpretation of history through his art. In doing so, he is sending a number of messages regarding his beliefs as far as history is concerned.
The style of work varies considerably. All this work was made during a two-year period. Moods, research, historical, artistic and social baggage have decided the way work was done while the artist always felt he should send a message to the onlooker regarding his position and ideas.
The artist Anthony Lucian Cauchi has previously held solo exhibitions at the National Library Entrance in 1975, the Town Hall in the City of Perugia in Italy in 1984, the Archeological Museum of Malta in 1985, the National Museum of Fine Arts Contemporary Room in 1993 and the Court Yard in 1995, and more recently at the German Maltese Circle in 2001 and the Gran Hotel Corinthia (San Anton, Balzan) in 2002 among others.
