The performance of Renaud Garcia-Fons (right), La Linea Del Sur will be held on Tuesday 21 July at the President’s Palace Courtyard, Valletta at 9.30pm as part of the Malta Arts Festival.

Renaud Garcia-Fons will be performing on Double Bass, for the New Quartet La Línea del Sur, David Venitucci on Accordion, Kiko Ruiz, Flamenco Guitar, and Pascal Rollando, Percussions. Renaud Garcia Fons possesses an incredible virtuosity which makes the double bass sound like a violin in his hands! His mastery of the instrument and musical sensitivity are overwhelming and has left audiences wondering how it is possible to play a double bass in this manner.

About the music Renaud says: “…La Línea del Sur is my way of tying a knot with the many musical worlds that illuminated my childhood, namely, the music of the Mediterranean Rim, Latin America, flamenco and jazz. Naturally, the profound love I felt for these musical styles was my starting point on the journey along the roads of an imaginary South, a dreamland rooted in a multitude of musical traditions all sharing a love for songs that emerge from the depths of the soul.”
