The European Institute of Education (EIE) has sponsored the Travel Manual – Your Information Passport, a document issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that is intended for those wishing to travel abroad.

The manual contains information on necessary travel documents, as well as information relating to the procedures to follow in certain circumstances such as getting married abroad, accidents and several others. Other information that can be found in the manual relates to the relevant information regarding the embassies and the consuls that are found outside Malta.

This manual is especially useful to those who do not regularly travel abroad and are thus not familiar with all that is required to travel.

EIE regularly helps Maltese students to enrol and study in foreign Universities, mostly in Europe. The staff within the newly set-up EIE Study Abroad unit are well versed in offering information on educational opportunities for students who want to further their studies abroad.

EIE is authorised to enrol students at Cranfield University School of Management, Coventry University, the University of Essex, Sheffield Hallam University, the Accademia Italiana – Fashion and Design Institute and many more.

The courses on offer are as diverse and as specialised as can be from Forensic Science to Sports Management and Development, Disaster Management, Creative Technologies, Biomolecular Sciences, Risk Management, Computer Engineering and Fashion Design.

EIE also helps Maltese students learn foreign languages in European cities.

The President of EIE Mr. Antonello Cappitta said that it was only natural for the European Institute of Education to sponsor such an initiative. “We process a good number of applications from students who want to study in one of our partner Universities abroad. Most of these students would have already ventured abroad but only for short holidays. Studying abroad is a wholly different experience, as it would entail a number of months, maybe even years. The manual helps our students establish themselves more easily in their host country.”

The Travel Manual may be acquired from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Palazzo Parisio, Valletta. It is also available from the head office of the European Institute of Education at Sir Ugo Mifsud Street, Ta’ Xbiex Terrace, Ta’ Xbiex.

The manuals are available in English or Maltese.
