Carnival 2010 will be held between Friday, 12 and Tuesday, 16 February, the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts said. The council is organising competitions in Grotesque Masks; Group Costume / Children’s Company – Section C; Group Costume / Company – Section B and Group with Costume / Company – Section A.

The other entries are intended for bands with music adapted specifically for Carnival; Triumphal Float Section A; Triumphal Float Section B; Triumphal Float Section C; individual mask; decorated vehicles and decorated carts.

Application forms, regulations and conditions may be downloaded from the website www.maltaculture.com and are also available from the council at 230 ‘Casa Gaspe’, Republic Street, Valletta.

Applications (except bands wanting to participate in Carnival) need to be submitted by Friday, 14 August. Applications for bands will be received up to Friday, 4 September.
