A Memory Walk is being held along Republic Street, Valletta tomorrow at 11am, as part of activities by the Malta Dementia Society to mark the World Day on Alzheimer Disease, which is marked on 21 September. The public is invited to attend.
The society is also putting up an information stand in Freedom Square from 9.30am. The society said everyone should be aware of what dementia entails, so that those who have the condition would be helped effectively.
Dementia affects six million persons in Europe, 4,500 of them in Malta. Alzheimer is the main cause of dementia.
