Express Trailers, a leading transport and logistics company, both locally and abroad, was one of the main sponsors of the prestigious World’s Strongest Man event which is being once again held in Malta.

The PartyPoker.com World’s Strongest Man 2009 is organised by IMG Worldwide with the local support of Sports Promotions (Malta). Malta’s natural beauty, history and culture are featuring in this event, as picturesque and colourful locations have been carefully chosen to show off the island at its best.

The World’s Strongest Man tests the limits of human strength, power, endurance and determination from athletes coming from all over Europe and America. Over the past three decades, these ‘Super Giants’ competed in a series of 10 different events over a period of four strenuous days to determine the winner of the title.

Qualifying rounds were held recently and the finals will be held until tomorrow. Entry is free for all events and the organisers are highly encouraging the Maltese support during these spectacular events.

Express Trailers made available an articulated 16m vehicle for the Truck Pull event which was held at the Valletta Waterfront, and which is expected to be broadcasted on worldwide channels such as ESPN and Eurosport.

The truck used for the competition is a Volvo Euro 5 Truck, one of the latest additions to the company’s fleet. The truck pulling one of the company’s latest Reefer trailers, used to transport temperature sensitive cargo.

The total tonnage which the participants had to pull was 20 tonnes.
