Melita Capital plc’s €25,000,000 7.15 per cent 2014-2016 bond issue has been over-subscribed and subscription lists are now closed.
This is the first bond issue by Melita Capital to finance projects including the fibre optic submarine cable linking Malta to the rest of the world and the next generation infrastructure for mobile communications.
“This success gives us great satisfaction as it provides yet another confirmation of the reputation enjoyed by Melita in the Maltese islands. I am very grateful to the Maltese public for the continued trust shown in Melita. The bond issue generated a very good response and I take this opportunity to thank the investors, the banks, all the financial intermediaries and advisers for their support in making it a success,” said Melita Capital plc chairman Joseph A. Gasan.
Melita Capital is the financing company of the new business of Melita.
Bank of Valletta plc was manager for the bond and also acted as Bond Registrar, while Rizzo, Farrugia & Co. (Stockbrokers) Ltd acted as sponsor.
