Swedish children’s footwear chain Vincent Shoe Store has opened a concept store in Tower Road, Sliema. The well-known and much-loved brand specialises in cutting edge designer footwear for children, from newborn to nine years of age. The store has a large variety of fun and functional kids’ shoes, fashionably styled and manufactured with high quality materials.
The creative forces behind Vincent – Patrick Osterman and Thomas Elbaum – flew to Malta especially for the Sliema store opening. “When my nephew Vincent was born in 1998, Patrick and I just could not find the perfect pair of shoes to give as a baby gift,” said Thomas. “We think most higher-end kids’ shoes on the market today are over-designed with too many competing colours, details and applications.”
“The challenge inspired us to design our own line of children’s shoes in clean and simple styles that are also fun, fashionable and functional and which have since become very popular among families with children,” he continued.
Patrick and Thomas gather inspiration for the Vincent collections from global fashion trends and what’s hot on the runways of Paris, Milan, London and New York. The creative duo strengthened their design instincts by working as buyers and decorators for a number of well-known international stores and through their experience in the fashion industry.
