The Culture commission part of the L’Isle Adam Band Club of Rabat is organising an Art exhibition of works by the National Sculptor Anton Agius, in commemoration of the first anniversary of his demise. The exhibition will open tomorrow at Palazzo Xara, premises of the L’Isle Adam Band Club. The exhibition will be opened after a Solemn Mass at 6pm in St Mary of Jesus Church Rabat with the participation of the L’Isle Adam Band and St Francis of Assisi choir. The exhibition will host a number of sculptures in wood and gesso, statues, various designs and models, statues as part of various feasts, monument bozzettos and their actual photographs and works of art, which today are part of the Band Club’s rich memorabilia.

Anton Agius was born in Rabat, part of the Josephine Community with strong bonds with the L’Isle Adam Band Club from early childhood, as his father also played with this band. Part of his works in Rabat are the War Monument, the monument to commemorate the seventh International Symposium of St Joseph, St Francis of Assisi, Mons. Guzeppi Depiro and other artistic works found in Malta and overseas.
