Marquita Kemper from Wedding Bells bridal shop is embarking on an initiative to donate her old stock of unsold wedding dresses to Uganda for women who wish to get married but don’t have a dress.
“I found out about this project after reading about it in Marie Claire magazine. I immediately got in touch with Carol Halton, director of the project called Jireh Women. She was very excited that I wanted to get involved. She also intends to set up a bridal shop so I’m even donating headdresses and bridesmaid dresses for this cause.”
While Mrs Kemper is donating the dresses, she needs help in order to pay for the shipment, so she is asking the public to donate anything they can to go towards this expense. Meanwhile, if your wedding gown is taking up valuable space in your wardrobe and you wish to do something worthwhile, you can also donate your gown for this cause by taking it to Wedding Bells.
You can send your donation by post to Wedding Bells, 4/5, Coliseum Arcades, Zachary Street, Valletta.
